The Nightmare of Ashihama is a brand-new type of content in Old School RuneScape: a team boss event with support for up to 80 players. It challenges players to battle a monster known as The Nightmare, which can be situated in Morytania. In an interesting move by Jagex, The Nightmare's health and battle stats scale based on the amount of players in the struggle. This usually means that a group of 5 players stands only as much of a chance as a mob of 80.

The battle takes place within a case, and only 1 group of players could battle The Nightmare at once -- though Ironmen get their own different case. To initiate the fight, a player needs to simply approach The Nightmare's body, pick Disturb, and you'll head straight into the instance. The initiation is slightly different for Ironmen though. Rather, these hard cookies have to drink from the Pool of Nightmares to initiate the conflict. In any event, just one group can fight The Nightmare simultaneously, with all other players having to wait until the instance is completed before getting their opportunity. When the players defeat The Nightmare or every single player gets defeated, then the battle is over. You'll known a different group is fighting The Nightmare if she is floating over the floor when you hit her, instead of lying on the floor.

The Nightmare of Ashihama is situated in Morytania, so you'll need to be able to access this place to take part. That's the only restriction however. Her specific place is at the Sisterhood Sanctuary, which is right beneath the town of Slepe. You won't really fight her though -- not really. You actually fight her inside her fantasies. Though there are no requirements (aside from accessibility to OSRS Power Leveling Morytania), having all battle stats over level 85 is recommended so you do not get decimated in 1 hit. We would also advise that you get a high Prayer level, as you'll need protection prayers to mitigate the damage.
